Irradiant Technologies was founded with the mission to revolutionize what can be made by unlocking the full potential of light through and for 3D nanofabrication.

Irradiant intends to fundamentally change how we build nanotechnologies now, and into the far future.
The company initially spun out of MIT Media Lab, where Founder & CEO Daniel Oran uncovered and experimentally validated first-principle insights that fundamentally change what can be manufactured in 3D at the nanoscale.

The “why now” became clear to Oran when he realized that new tools from neuro-engineering, when combined with centuries old photochemistry, could solve decades-centuries old problems for optics, photonics, and microelectronics that have now reached their limits of progress and require a step-change in how things are made.

After validating the technology in academia, Irradiant was founded with the support of the Activate Fellowship and several government grants to mature the platform. It was at this point, Co-Founder Amos Meeks joined Irradiant as CTO, to bring the scientific and engineering rigor necessary to refine the technology and bring it to market.

Since then, Irradiant has de-risked the fabrication platform by scaleably building highly functional components, raised over $20million dollars from venture and grants, grown the team to >30 people, and moved into a 25,000+ sqft. facility where its building out the world’s first 3D Nano-Optics, Photonics, and Microelectronics Foundry.
